The Intentional Teacher

Ann Epstein wrote a book titled, The Intentional Teacher: Choosing the Best Strategies for Young Children’s Learning.  This book is about how we, as educators, should be intentional about what we’re teaching our students.  Intentional teaching requires educators to obtain the appropriate knowledge about the subject(s) that we’re teaching as well as making sure that our students are able to understand the objectives planned according to the curriculum.  Since every student is different, it’s the job of the educator to adopt a variety of strategies and activities that encourage each student’s need for success.  Knowing which learning style is most effective for each student and adjusting the environment to support each student should also be a goal of every educator.  What are some strategies that you use in your classroom that you feel accommodate your students and guide them towards success?
